Welcome to Inside - Out Horsemanship

Along with hoofcare services, I also offer Inside - Out Horse handling education by the hour, priced by private treaty accordingly, for those folks that feel they've reached a plateau, road block, or just do not know which way to turn [or cannot turn] with their horses.

One important ingredient I've found in every horse I've ever met, is that they will honestly tell you how they have lived their lives up until that moment and how they feel about themselves. Also, they tell you honestly what they do not understand and need help with to live in the human world. The key to reading this in the horse is learning how they think, what is important to them, and over time, learning the strengths and weaknesses of your particular equine individuals personality. Together we will climb into your horses skin, and see what they are telling us about their lifes situation giving us an origin for our starting point.

In my travels with hoofcare, I tell folks that we cannot get to the basement without going through the front door. Meaning if we do not have the horses mind with us, there is no way we'll be able to get to, and keep the feet with us because the feet naturally want to take the body to where the mind is or 'would like to be'. This same rule applies with riding, or anything else we desire to do with horses. With each horse I see throughout the day, I check in to see how he/she's mentally feeling on this particular day. Most are ready to go right off the bat. We say a brief hello, they know me, why I'm there, and are mostly eager to help. But once in a while insecurity, uncertainty, or having a different agenda rears it's ugly head and that needs to be addressed accordingly first, prior to the hoofcare. Any other order is the foundation for a less than desirable experience for every individual involved.

Ladies and Gentleman the same applies to everything we do with our animals, especially riding [the fun stuff]. Without the animals mind and attention, which only comes with a proper relationship, we do not have the feet, and it's not a matter of if but when disaster makes it's way to the surface.

You may or may not conclude by this web site that I don't ride english... western.. or any particular dicipline. I just like to ride my Mare among God's creation any chance I get and bumping into wildlife is icing on the cake for me. I'm Eclectic, meaning that I take what I like from various sources, and apply it to my current situation.. and mix it together. I've never been able to distinguish when someone says a horse rides english or western.  Or when they say that you can ride both English and Western on this horse. There has only been two kinds of riding to me. Good and Not So Good. And you can feel both in your stomach while riding, or watching another horse/human pair riding together. It feels good when it is, and also not so good when it's that too. In my years among horse people, there has definately been much more talk of the tangible and very little talk of the intangible which to me is somewhat backward. You cannot safely  have the tangible fun stuff without a proper intangible relationship and the understanding of both parties of that relationship.

That's where Inside - Out comes in.. I'll help you get to the inside, so you can enjoy the outside safely!! We'll start from the place where you're at and move forward, going as far as you desire or we are capable of.
